Drawing Exercise

Draw it upside down

Here's a drawing exercise from the book. You'll see a photo you've never set eyes on, turned upside down. Try to draw exactly what you see — the shapes, edges and shadows — without naming what it is. Working upside down quiets the part of your brain that rushes to label things and lets the part that really sees take over. When you're done, reveal it the right way up to compare. Press “Show another photo” whenever you'd like a fresh one.

Ordering the paperback from the EU?

Sadly I can't currently post paperbacks to the EU. New customs rules mean a book sent from the UK arrives with import charges almost as large as the price of the book, and I don't want that landing on your doorstep.

For now, the paperback is on Amazon across the EU. Amazon shows any import taxes and charges at checkout, so you'll see the full cost before ordering. Pick your country's store:

No store for your country? Most of these deliver across the EU. The eBook and audiobook aren't affected, so you can still buy those here.
